The association is based on 95 people interested in joining and its objective is to make visible the professional fabric of Navarre in the cinematographic field. In addition to the variety and scenic beauty that makes Navarre an attractive place for filming at national and international level, the Autonomous Community also has a professional and quality technical fabric. This is the reason for the creation of CINATEK, the new Professional Association of Film Technicians of Navarra whose first meeting was held yesterday.

This group was born with the interest in the initiative of 95 active technicians and with representation from all departments of the film sector. At yesterday’s meeting, the composition of the Board of Directors, which represents several of the professions of audiovisual filming, was approved: President Miguel Iturralde (Production Department); vice-presidents Aiora Ganuza and Uxue Laguardia (costume and makeup department respectively); Secretary Laura Rodríguez (Production Department); the treasurer Iñigo Hualde (from the Department of Photography); and the members Mamen Hernández and Cristina Palacios (Art department), Iratxe Aranguren (Photography department), Gorka Zudaire (Electrical department), Idoia Aragón (Production department), and Denis Leiza (Machinists department).

From the association, which has already approved its statutes, we want to call on Navarrese professionals in the sector who are active to join together to strengthen the sector and give itself visibility. In this sense, its president, Miguel Iturralde, affirms: “The sector cannot be understood without its professionals, and we have a lot to say and contribute”. The main objective is precisely to give value to Navarrese technicians in the cinematographic field so that they make their ideas known. To do this, they will join the Audiovisual Cluster of Navarra in order to work for the audiovisual sector from within and work on joint projects. In addition, on the website of the association you will soon find a professional guide of technicians available to work on filming and audiovisual projects of various kinds. The act of constitution of this association took place yesterday in the conference room of the Condestable in Pamplona, where they were able to meet first-hand the board of directors and explain their purposes and next steps.
